Lilica travels two miles each day to bring food to her family.
When mix breed dog Lilica goes for her evening walk, she returns with food for her entire family. The kind canine ventures two miles each night to pick up food that is especially prepared for her and the other animals in her extended family. It seems that she has been sharing her food every night for three years.
Lilica lives in a junkyard in Sao Carlos, Brazil with another dog, a cat, chickens, and a mule along with Neile Vania Antonio, who adopted Lilica when she was just a puppy. Every evening, the dog makes her way along a busy highway to meet Professor Lucia Helena de Souza, who cares for 13 stray dogs and 30 cats. Lucia prepares food, puts it in a bag and gives it to Lilica. Every evening the dog eats some of the food and then carries the remaining food in the bag back home.
Neile says that Lilica has been bringing food home for three years and that she truly appreciates what the dog does. "People don't do that. Some people hide and do not want to share what they have with others. She did not. Lilica is an exceptional animal."
