Most pet parents will agree that patience goes out the window when their canine companion is excited to get somewhere and a 2-year-old black lab named Eclipse is no exception. When Eclipse's owner's cigarette break at the bus stop takes too long, she'll climb aboard without him.
And where is she headed in such a hurry? The dog park, of course.
Eclipse and her owner, Jeff Young, live right by the bus stop in their Seattle neighborhood.
"She's been here the last two years, so she's been urbanized, totally. She's a bus-riding, sidewalk-walking dog," Young says, adding that he sometimes has to catch the next bus to catch up to her at the dog park three or four stops away.
Her fellow bus passengers don't seem to mind, though. Other riders report that Eclipse will happily take a seat next to strangers and watch out the window for her stop. Even the bus drivers know her and enjoy having her aboard!
"It makes their day. It's a good part of their day and it works out for her so I just let it go," says Young.
A Metro Transit spokesman for the Seattle agency says they love that Eclipse appreciates public transit.
